Rev. Floyd Hawkins, Jr. was born in Mississippi and has made his home in Indianapolis for the past 38 years. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kattie, and together they have 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law and 3 grandsons. Rev. Floyd Hawkins accepted the call to Ministry in 1995 while serving as a deacon and teacher at Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. To further prepare himself for the work of the Lord, he enrolled in Crossroads Bible College where he received an Associates Degree in Urban Ethnic Ministry and Pastoral Theology. He is currently working on his Bachelor Degree. In 2001 Rev. Hawkins accepted an assignment as Associate Pastor of Memorial Baptist Church in Speedway, Indiana for 3 years and served as Pastor for 1 year. Through Rev. Hawkins' leadership, the church committed itself to spiritual growth, fellowship and removing racial barriers. Currently, Rev. Hawkins and his wife, Kattie, are utilizing their spiritual gifts of teaching, preaching, evangelism and giving to lead and develop the Family Life Ministry of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church . This God-given ministry opportunity allows the Hawkins to share their passion for marriage and families. The couple developed their unique ministry style through ministering to singles and couples in dinner fellowships at their home. Complementing each others gifts', the couples 38 year marriage serves as an example of Ephesians 5:31.
